Lanvin A/W 2008-2009

-
"Part of a designer's job is to be pragmatic. Not to be ashamed to think about making life easy for a woman."
-
This has always been the secret to Alber Elbaz's success, at Lanvin and elsewhere before that. Pragmatism, without a doubt, but realism too, even for elegance at its chicest. The common thread running through this season's collection is the intricately worked grosgrain used to construct entire dresses, and more generally, ribbons, tapes, and pleats, horizontal and vertical chic, the peak of technical perfection, ethereal or more structured, but always easy to wear, and even more easy on the eye.
-
From the figure hugging day dress to the sequined Roaring 20's inspired evening dress, to asymmetrical sexy sheath dress and suits and trench coats more classic in nature. Lanvin's black and shades of pearl is simplicity at it's more alluring which pays tribute to women everywhere who want to be sure that their power of seduction also means being at one with what they wear.

Because

Because so many people have been hatin' on me recently, I've decided to go back to basics, file into my reserve of fashion, and pull a fashion review from my ass!
-
Balenciaga By Nicolas Ghesquiere (Fall-Winter 2008-2009)
-

-
Just when you though that the little black dress no longer held and had secrets, along comes Nicolas Ghesqiere. At Balencuaga, the designer has quite simply reinvinted it, meshing a fifties "film noir" touch with a resolutely modernist touch aproach. As witnessed by the rigorous line that fits like a glove. Few houses can boast such unity between their founded and the current designer. This season more so than ever before, Nicolas Ghesquiere successfully melds his own personal passions with the Balenciaga heritage. The young designer's taste for sci-fi and techo surfaces, like plastic, is ideal for Balenciaga's renowned sleekness. you could call it "latex couture", given the substance by shiny carapace-like dresses, slit skirts for sophisticated femininity, all in swathes - tight, geometric pants and small round shouldered jackets, cleverly draped taffeta and velvet tops and a hand painted latex.
-
A tour de force in every respect.

New Look: New Shop

-
No, I'm not speaking of the new Star Plaza layout, or the new Medoll hair/lips/and eyes (although those are fantabulous) I'm talking about a new Star Plaza shop! That's right, the word of the virtual street is that the Star Plaza will once again add a new virtual-version of a real store. 'New Look', a store with such celebrity lines as Lily Allen (Perez would be in heaven if she were here), is best known in the United Kindom. They offer a variety of clothes that include celebrity inspired clothing lines (similar to Candies and Abbey Dawn). Hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more of this store in the near future!
-

-

How do you get this 'Pretty in Pink' dress, you ask? Simply go to the Star Plaza and search the color pink. On the 15th page, you'll find the dress! If you want it in real life, you can follow the link (just click the pic) back to the site! Good luck and happy shopping.

A'Hoy There?

One f-in' hot pirate! :)
-
ALOT OF YOU, have been concerned with my postes lately. Frankly, I don't have the time to write a novel on this blog every day. Between soccer, b-day party planning, and school... my plate is full, and keeping in touch with people I don't even know isn't my top priority.
-
Sorry, but I don't give a shit about you haterz! I'll put up a video if I damn well please!

It's 'Hair-tasic'!

-
"What gives a girl power and punch? It is charm? Is it poise? No! It's hairspray!" Hairspray, possibly my favorite musical of this decade, is funky, fun, and hairtastic! It looks like Stardoll decided to take a page out of Hairspray's book and make some truly fabulously over-the-top hairDOs for your Medoll to enjoy!
-
Is it just me, or has Stardoll actually been getting freakin' awesome? The October Hot Buys redifine the word 'fierce', they are finally using their influence over the millions of girls/boys/trannies that log on everyday to inspire Breast Cancer Awareness, and they JUST released over 10 new hairstyles! Alright, so it doesn't quite measure up to the wonderfulness of the 'Pink for October' store, but it is wonderful to everyone who has been waiting for months for a weave!

The War on Breasts

If you have anyone close to you, who has survived, has, or have been lost to cancer... don't read this. It's a very sensitive subject... and since I live in a family that has been affected by some types of cancer, I know how it is. I just want to show you the lighter side, of my birth month (two days, bitches)!

In the month of October, every realizes that green is definitely last season, and pink... is the new black! All because of a deadly disease called cancer! In the words of Wendy Testaburger, an avid, Breast Cancer supporter! (btw, I'm IN LOVE with the reversed color Prada bag in the BC shop!)

Poll Results!

-
A week ago, I asked all of you budding fashionistas what, out of the limited choices, designer you wished would set up a virtual haven in the Star Plaza. Here are your results:
-
01. Marc Jacobs - 35%
-
02. Gucci - 32%
-
03. L.A.M.B. - 19%
-
04. Versace - 13%
-
So, what I'm wondering, as I put off writing an essay on the themes and characterizations of Jeffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, is what designers YOU want, other then the four choices. I know that a lot of my fantabulous readers know more then a thing or two about the Fashion Industry, so spill it babes!

An Open Letter to My Hat'ahs

Dear haters,

Two words for you are: suck it. I get tired of people saying I've lost my touch, but 10 minutes later saying that I'm great. Make up your mind. It's hard. No, correction, extremely hard, to find something to write about every single day for you guys. ((it's hard)) It's also extremely hard, when people critisize me and only like me for my spit-fire mouth. I curse. Fuck, pussy, shit, ass, whore, cunt, dick. There, if I haven't given you enough of an offense, this will. Damn. You. To. Hell. If you can't do anything but criticize LEAVE!

With little loveleft over,
Anthony.

Same old shitz!

Although lil' Ms. Gia (dreamma, Diamond-Ddiva) is my home-girl, I've got to say that her picks for prettiest medoll are pretty messed up. First of all, she says her pick, has the freshest prettiest features. Probably, because she used like like 2 months ago... and still sometimes does!

In my opinion, that doll looks like a lil' fugly street-walker, that couldn't even find a pimp! She should get rid of the winged eyes (that was over with The Bangles and before that, Cleopatra!) and the eyeshadow, just screams COCKATOO! (good hooker name, btw... perfect for her) I just think, that it's an aweful choice! Some one like the puff-meister is a good choice (his hair is original) or my brother (she's not a boy), Lovinitlovinit, or yours truly who created one of the first weaves! :) (if you're too much of a fuck-tard to not get that this was a joke, go 69 sally struther's, or have a 3some with your parents!)

Da b*tch,

Ant-honey!

OMG!!!

HOLY SHIT-MONKEYS!!! The new "lace" collection is absolute perfection!! :) It it the perfect touch of feminity to the shit that we were forced to look at last week! Plus, have any of you noticed, that there's wigs? Perfect to add to my collection of tranny-licous accessories, but also perfection for halloween! I believe my favorite of the new clothes (it's not the Alexander McQueen, although that's pretty high up...) is the Prada bag! It is major-hotness, and the perfect price! Who ever though you could get prada for less than 1ooo bucks? (well, not one of the cute lil' nylon make-up bags, that are about $250!) I never did!

I also fell in love with the parasol! For the on-coming rainy (and snowy) season, it'll be perfect to cover your coif! Plus, isn't every one in love with the new starplaza layout! (sorry, that's my last time blabbering about it, I promise!) The only thing I ask for, is the Alexander McQueen flats! HOLY F*CK, I loved them! (Btw, if when you pick up the prada bag for the first time and there's only half of it... it's not like that once it's bought! At first I though "HOLY SHIT, it better be whole, or the devil will being wearing half a prada... AND THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY, CALLIE!! You and you're hideous hair, and obviously fake louboutins!)

Oh yes, the bitch... is back! *evil(ish) laugh*,

springBITCH!

New Stardoll Layout: LOVES IT! :D

I am OFFICIALLY in love with the new stardplaza lay-out! You don't have to look hard to find things, and they've gotten so "high-tech" that you can chat while shopping! Could it get any better? I think not! The thing I liked most is, when I'm in the seach section, I no longer have to ex out, and start all over! (it used to freeze my comp! :()

So, what do you think?

Makeover: Star Plaza

-
Stardoll bores me sometimes. Let's not pretend like we all haven't spent hours trying different looks and outfits in the Plaza on a rainy Sunday or dressing up dolls we've already dressed up thousands of times while we should really be typing an essay for school...
-
-
The fact that Stardoll changes the simplest of things (like our Star Plaza) keeps everything fresh for me. Sure, it's just a change of format, but I love it. Stardoll has been slowly changing everything from suite functions to designer labels. I still hate them for what they did to my f*cking Chanel (which I now hide in my closet out of shame!) though. What I'm trying to get at, through my tired rumbles, is that I generally like the new layout of this tired concept. IO can still remember Stardoll's Golden Days, though, when the Star Plaza wasn't the Star Plaza, it was a beaken of hope and fashion where a girl could buy a quality piece of virtual attire...
-
That's a bit to far, eh?

Hotfuss.

Although I love The Killers, I'm not talking about their album, Hotfuss. I'm talking about the hot fuss I have been in lately. It's been rumored (okay, not rumored... I screamed it from the rooftops) that I don't like Style_Magazine. Even though, we aren't friends... I should not have done that, and unfortunately I think it is too late for an apology, but I still stand here angry at myself for being such a dick... and I'd really love to give you a warm welcome! I was, (in a sense) a bit jealous, that you're writing was long (and although boring) very well written!

So, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry to my beloved readers.

Are you “Loco” for Coco? - Pt. 2

This is the second installment of my Chanel posts, and - fortunately or unfortunately, it is also the final one. The design team at Stardoll drew the inspiration for Coco Chanel’s garments and accessories from the Chanel - Special Exhibition held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, from May 5, 2005–August 7, 2005. More than fifty designs and accessories from the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s very own Costume Institute collection, the Chanel Archives in Paris, and - various global institutions such as London-based - Victoria and Albert Museum. As I have read in one article dedicated to this exhibition, it was indented to examine the history of the House of Chanel thematically, revealing ideas and elements of biography as they were expressed in Chanel’s work. It is important to point out that the collection did not feature solely Coco Chanel’s designs, rather - it featured some words of Karl Lagerfeld for the House of Chanel.

You know that I have talked about the dilemma whether Mary is holding a clutch or not on the Cover of Teen Style’s September/October Issue, but - now I have a picture of it. You be the judge:

Enjoy the following Chanel garments and accessories, despite - Stardoll’s decision to change some of the Chanel items that were released in the Starplaza… And, you have got to admit it is not their fault - they just had to do the inevitable, in order to avoid some legal troubles with the House of Chanel. That trial would have been interesting - The House of Chanel v. Stardoll… My verdict, Chanel is ordered to open a Real Brand store in the Starplaza. Yes, not going to happen for sure!

Evening ensemble, dating from 1936 - featuring floor-length ivory silk lace with ivory silk tulle dress with a modest neckline and sleeves.

1920’s faux-pearl “Maltese Cross” brooch from the Chanel jewellery collection by Patrick Mauries.

Day ensemble, dating from 1927 - representing both the idea of the "little black dress," and the idea of “poverty de luxe”, which basically means an expensive interpretation of a simple design made of modest materials.

Fulco di Verdura for Chanel cuffs, featuring a jewel-encrusted “Maltese Cross” - as I have read in one blog, a symbol dating from the 11th Century and derives its name from the white cross emblem on the black robes of the military and religious order, the Knights Hospitallers, which was based in Malta.

This evening ensemble was featured on the covers of all the promotional material for the exhibition and its accompanying catalogue, and - guess who painted it... Karl Lagerfeld, himself - proving that he knows watercolous, as much as he knows fashion.

Another one of Karl Lagerfeld’s watercolours, this time depicting a black silk chiffon evening dress from 1925.

Sticky & Sweet

-
While my friend Kasia (UndaMyUmbrellla) and I were going over plans for The Sweet Escape "Cirque de Stardoll" bash, it hit me. When I went to my friends list, the order was off. When I went to my clubs list, it had vanished. I do recall getting a notification about the deletion of one of the clubs I belonged to, but thought nothing of it. So what's the deal behind this sudden deletion of the Star Award winning nightspot?

I couldn't even tell you, and I'm the Co-Manager of the joint! What gives, P?

Madonna, I love you. For the second time in my short life, I had the oppurtunity to experience the Queen of Pop work her magic on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. The first of two times was during her Disco-inspired dazzler "Confessions Tour" which stopped by a few short years ago. Like the last concert I saw, Madonna brought it 110% and showed no signs of stopping or slowing down.
-
-
From her new rendition of one of my favorite-ever Madonna tracks "La Isla Bonita" and the hip-hop oozing version of "Vogue", everything was awe inspiring. My favorite moment, amongst the multiple costume changes and dance moves, was her roaring rendition of "Human Nature". If you've never hear the track, think an early 90's version of the Britster's "Piece of Me". Of course the reason I loved this so much really had less to do with the Material Girl and much more to do with the star plastered on the screen behind her. That's right, if you hadn't heard, the reigning Princess of Pop makes a special appearence in her Majesty's via video screen. The only reason this small moment in the show made my night, was the huge thunderous applause as Britney exclaimed her infamous phrase "It's Britney, Bitch." It gave me goose-bumps. It's okay, laugh at me.
-
Long live Madonna, the Queen of Pop...for now.

HAPPY 1-3!!!

I've GOT to announce, HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY, to my long time brother... LOVINITLOVINIT! (no she isn't a boy... it's an inside joke)

Loves you!

Only 17 more days for moi!

BYES!

It's horse hair, b!tch!

It started out with me, wanting a sophisticated, side ponytale! [Like Yvonne Shalee' (madTV- Can I have yo' nomber?) and my new fav song, from Natalie Portman's shaved head] but evolved into my new, FRUCKING fab hair-do, hair-done!

My new (technical) weave!

Look at my new, long, flowing locks! They're great, aren't they? I did it by using the new hairs tails, and manes! :D Get your very own look, just don't do what I did! :D

Christinaxcore:Tttly Tits!

I've got to open this up by saying, ChristinaxCore's designs are TOTALLY TITS! :D (took a word from Eric Cartman)! She is a total master at creating leopard print clothing! Just take a gander at my fellow (awesome) stardoll blogger, Fag_Puff's deliciously catty clothes, and my terrorizingly temoltuous tights!

This girl'z got some MAD skillz! :D

Until next time,

OMFG: Crisis Time!

.
Today I was casually talking to Ellie when she messaged me in fury, saying the Fendi Bag, Hello Kitty T-shirt, and the Chanel 2.55 Bags were now fake. Thanks to Stardoll, all of the items that once held designer labels now look like cheap knock-offs from a purse party!
.
Leave It To Stardoll
.

Random hot-stuff!

Yay! Finally, superstars get a little satisfaction no only for buying stardollars... but being lazy! I picked up the Orange Crush, which is very well made but I know a few more people who pulled the Antique rose! Both of them are beautiful, but I'm not really a fan on the October night dress! It just reads, celebutant before a coke fueled binge, that of course ended up on the worse
Another thing I'd like to discuss is the new headband that I wildly anticipated.

Flowers, feathers, and netting... 3 of fashion's most used items. On the new hotbuys doll it looked great.

But after purchasing it last night (for 6 sds, and superstar, ouch!) I've decided it's holes are fare too small for a medoll. They have to be a little bigger, unless you look like you have some weird black thing, stuck in your hair! Something I also didn't like was the size!

It's one of those items that is HUGE! I didn't expect that either. But, all around it is chic! I guess, you just need the right hair-style, outfit, and setting to go with it! :Ddressed list... but, that's just me!

Are you “Loco” for Coco? - Pt. 1

There is no question whether I have a thing for the timelessness that the House of Chanel provides us every single season, and - trust me, I have not hidden my “Coco/Karl” fondness at all. If you can recall I did decide to feature an article solely dedicated to Chanel in Style Magazine’s March Issue from this year, written by the delightful Dina Delphine (Dina_da_Dino) - accompanied with a rather simple photoshoot (the world-wide famous Chanel logotype, an interlocking double-Cs as a background) to emphasize the Chanel clothes featured in the photoshoot itself. Even, Teen Style - Style Magazine’s sister site has given all of us some Chanel treats on September/October’s Cover. After a talk I had with Selena (Model-Selena), Teen Style’s Editor-in-Chief - I actually found out that the stunning clutch was not a clutch after all; it is a bag featuring a detachable gold-tone link chain and she decided to remodel into a clutch. Not to mention the fact that I really want those Chanel bracelets gracing Mary’s wrist… Anyway, enough of me rambling about my adoration for Chanel - I don’t want you to get bored, because I still have not even half-way finished!

Eternal little black dresses, immortal costume jewellery (pearls, pearls, pearls…), everlasting tweed suits, timeless quilted handbags… Let’s just put it like this - minimalist, sophisticated, elegant, to be worn at any time of day. Over the years, Chanel has created details that today we associate with Chanel and Chanel only. As I have mentioned previously, just think of - the little black dress, tweeds, pearls, camellias, Byzantine crosses, stars, bows. Speaking of the house classics…

Oh, Karl - would you take me on a ride on the giant carousel featuring the super-sized signature classics of the House of Chanel? Until one of my wildest dreams come true, I would have to settle with my MeDoll all decked out in vintage Chanel. Yes, there is plenty of that - now, that we have a Coco Chanel doll on Stardoll. But, not just that - we have some of the more recent Chanel collections as well. With my fashionista Nancy Drew skills (as Britney would say), I have discovered many of the dresses that Stardoll created for the Coco Chanel doll.

Chanel evening wear all the way from the Roaring Twenties. If that is not vintage enough, I really don’t know what it is… This garment features metallic lace and threads, lavish embroidery, exquisite beading and sequins - all of which, show the flawless workmanship that was executed by Chanel's own embroidery workshop. Also, the garment bears a sticking resemblance to the Asian lacquered screens and the Oriental furniture which Coco loved and collected, both in pattern and colour palette. Talk about inspiration!

This bag is an icon; I mean is there a person that has not heard of the legendary Chanel 2.55 bag… Hmm, I guess not? Launched over fifty years ago by Coco Chanel herself, the Chanel 2.55 is as stylish today as it was back in the day. What’s so interesting about this bag is that it tells the story of the life of Coco Chanel as she went numerous times from bottom to the top and back again.

As I have read in one blog recently, Coco Chanel grew up in an orphanage - therefore, the double chain shoulder strap comes from the caretakers in the orphanage that would dangle keys from their waists. The zippered compartment on the inside of the front flap and this is rumoured to be where Coco would keep her love letters during an affair she had with Nazi spy, Hans Gunther von Dincklage. The brown-red color of the inside represents the same colors of the childrens' uniforms in the orphanage. Because of her fascination with horse racing and wanting to pay tribute to the coats worn by jockeys, Coco’s Chanel 2.55 bag features quilted material - now, that distinic feature is literary a synonym for the bag itself. Since Coco's original design there may have been many variations of the original design of the 2.55, but - all of them have kept the essence of the original, proving that this is not just another It-bag of the moment.

Karl Lagerfeld designed this ensemble for the House of Chanel, and - it truly illustrates his success in preserving and reinterpreting the classic style elements created by Coco Chanel, the same ones mentioned earlier in this post. In this example, or should I say - outfit, Karl decided to make his own references to Coco Chanel's pioneering designs of the previous decades. Pairing a men's underwear-type tank top, inscribed with the interlocked "CC" logo, with a tulle skirt - and, adding an oversized gold-colored metal and wood chain belt, Karl Lagerfeld has skillfully used a lot of the classic Chanel signatures while updating the overall look and bringing it up-to-date. Postmodernism at its best!

When Zac Posen meets my fav. gay ex-couple!

HOTNESS!
Dolce and Gabbana (left), Zac Posen (right)

I may not be thrilled with the quality of the new Uma Thermon doll, but I am pleasently suprised to see it has Zac Posen from last season, and my fav. gay ex-couple Dolce and Gabbana!! Yays! It's exactly what I wanted!

The only thing I love more than myself, fashion, my family, god, my friends, food, and Mainz's bundeslega team is Rococco, or Baroque! Or, Rocobarocco, the popular Italian brand!

;D Byes!
