The Star Awards: Hit or Miss?

-
Barely a week ago, the 60th Annual Emmy Awards flopped worse then Mariah Carey's "Glitter" (Yes, I was one of the five people who saw that in the theaters!) with their lowest ratings in history. Of course I'd partly blame the lameness that opened the show (is anyone as sick a Ryan Seacrest as I am?), but maybe people are just sick of the same-old, same-old of the awards shows. That being said, the new take on the old tradition was met with both criticism and praise.
-
Personally, I thought the show needed a lot of work. It was too quick, too chaotic, and a bit fabulousnessless. Props go out to UndaMyUumbrellla and Jeremyn2005 for giving it their all! My highlights included my lovely co-writer Anthony winning the coveted 'Best Dressed' and the announcement that the new releases were HALF OFF, and my place of work being chosen as 'Best Buisness'!

Shopping For Labels

As I was chatting with one of my best friends on Stardoll, you probably know her - Nina (phishtickie); we swooned over the new Hot Buys doll. Don’t get me wrong, it was not the doll that we actually talked about - I guess that we were talking about what the whole Stardoll population was talking for the pervious few days, the designer clothes that we have all been waiting for ever since August, 2008.

I must say I have always been a fan of online shopping sites and watching the new collections online, although - I do look more at the clothes than actually buy them. Shortly after the Hot Buys doll was available to be seen by the Superstar population of Stardoll, I immediately began noticing designer garments that I have previously seen on some of the sites and fall collections.

This new set of clothes hopefully will mark a new phase on Stardoll in terms of the clothes that appear in the Starplaza. I have always been a fan of Stardoll, no matter what - and, I know that you all know that. But, I must say that I appreciate my whole Stardoll experience even more when Stardoll gives us stylish treats as these. As everybody else on Stardoll, even I can’t wait for the next set of Hot Buys!

Until then, indulge yourselves into one (or, more) of these designer garments:

It's NEW Britney, Bitch!

-
Okay. It's time for me to admit this. I'm a Britney Spears junkie, fanatic, crazy uber-bitch. You all knew that already, didn't you? Here's her new single 'Womanizer'! I'm in definite heaven right now and I couldn't love the electro-masterpiece more! Excuse the poor quality of the song, the HQ version won't be out until October 7, when it's released on iTunes!

EDIT: 'Womanizer' is now in our Playlist.

-

It's A New MK, B!tch!

-
You've got it right. The once feirce Paulina is no longer fierce. But, thanks to Undamyumbrellla sending me this mega-hotness pic... Mary-Kate is on the way to looking more like her self! Personally, I love the dress. And the lips, are so mk. It's practically the only thing she does on the red-carpet!! I'll be searching later, but I'm pretty sure that her new dress is also VERY FAB!

Tell me what you think! New or Old?

Dolce and Gabbana goes to the dogs!

I know what you're thinking. NUH-UH!! DOLCE AND GABBANA'S NEW SHOW IS ONE OF THEIR BEST ONES YET! I know that, and I completely agree. I just had to show you the dog one model is carrying in the new fashion show. Isn't it cute? What is it!?!?! A poodle? Anyways, if you know put it in the comments!!
-

I also love the new hotbuys doll!! The pink bag looks absolutely superb and I LOVE the black/green dress, all of the shows, the sequin top and shoulder bag!

The Stardoll Roundup

80's Goodness!
-
-
Who doesn't love a blast from the past with bright and colorful music, dance moves, and, of course, fanny packs. You know, that awfully tragic accessory that is almost too hideous for anyone but your parents to see how useful it actually is? Well, if you're a fan of the Randy Jackson produced Mtv show (one of the only music-oriented programs left on that channel) America's Best Dance Crew, then you're probably familiar with this supa fly crew. Today, for the first time in a while, Stardoll hosted a live chat session with them. I literally just caught the tail end of the chat, but they presented themselves as genuinely humble and kind. Who's next Stardoll?
-
*Fingers Crossed for Heidi and Spencer...NOT*
-

OMG, That Stardoll's Shameless!
--
We're all no longer strangers to opening up to Stardoll.com and seeing it littered with advertisements for tampons, movies aimed at 5 year-olds, and most recently, a plus-size clothing line. I'll be honest, it's grown on me. I get that Stardoll feels like they don't already make enough money, but lord almighty, what the fudge-pop is wrong with them? I love Wii, but in no way possible do I want to dress up characters from its games. Yawn.
-
FIERCE No More...
-

-
Remember that oh-s0 fierce Paulina Porizkova used to be in? Yeah, that shit is gone. No Paulina is just a plain-Jane with a gorgeous head of virtual hair. For the time being, her actual dressup doll is still keeping it tranny fierceness, but it most likely won't last. Fellow model and reality-star, Heidi Klum also recently had to undergo a makeover for her virtual Jordache spread; it was only a matter of time before her doll's and her account's appearance was altered. What would Tyra think of this less fierce Porizkova?
-

-

You Decide!

-

Do you think that if Stardoll would have figured out bit earlier that choosing our own clothes from the RealBrand labels would result in more money spent in the Star Plaza, that they would have been able to avoid the DKNY Spring 2008 disaster? I'm a thinkin' so. Below are the items that will will have FOR SURE. They are the top vote getters, so enjoy them! We'll probably get them in a couple of months!

LOVES IT!

-
Britney has Britney, Undamyumbrellla has Fendi bags, and I have Domenico Dolce and Steffano Gabbana. Don't read on if you aren't a fellow lover!!
-
Domenico Dolce and Steffano Gabbana... arguably the best pair in fashion since Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge have done it again with their D&G collection!! It was inspired by early nautical fashion, and let me say it is FABULOUS!
With stripes, sequins and fishnets they have killed in my mind!:) With that said, ONLY 3 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE DOLCE AND GABBANA FASHION SHOW!!! Ahhh... it's amazing! I can hardly express my emotion!! (btw, hata's don't respond to this... I said don't read if you don't like Dolce and Gabbana) It is sensuous, yet sophisticated and perfect for the on-coming summer!! The mirrored runway, with metallic fabric was GENIUS as well as the remix of Grace Jones' La Vie en Rose! By the way, didn't you absolutely love the evening gowns at the end!?!?! Which ever who came up with the idea of metallic and print was clearly, having a really inspiring day!
-
I can't wait until then!! In the mean-time I'll have out some reviews in early October!!

-

About Time...

-
Let's be honest with ourselves, as much as we've hyped the return of the 'Hot Buys' on Stardoll, every month, month after month, the colletions fell short of being anything more then frumpy, outdated, and just plain boring. I convinced myself that things were gettin better, and thank the lord, because they finally have. While I normally appreciate the effort that Stardoll put into their monthly 'gifts', I think it's finally safe to say that they've been slacking off for the past 6 months. This months items are reminiscent of Stardoll's 'glory days' and feel as inspired as the new Vivienne Tam line. It comes as a shock to me, that after months of pretending like their talent had been drained from them, that Stardoll's graphic designers still have it in them to turn out some drop-dead gorgeous clothing.
-
Amen, Stardoll God. Amen.

Behind the Scenes of teenSTYLE!

-
-
Admit it, whether you love or hate two of Stardoll’s most famous and most celebrated user-created fashion magazines, STYLE and it’s teen sister teenSTYLE, you know that you’ve been in awe of the obvious work and effort that goes into them. Well, I’m here, along with Selena, Style, and Anthony, to bring you a ‘Behind-the-Scenes’ look at the most fabulously fierce magazine out there!
-
This exclusive partnership between teenSTYLE and ‘It’s Stardoll Gossip, Bitch!’ will bring you never-before-seen photo shoots, axed spreads, and even a glimpse into the early planning stages of the magazine! Our first look behind the ‘seams’ of this fashion magazine will explore what it takes for a budding fashionista to grace the cover, what inspires Selena, and a look at the ORIGINAL cover/theme of Lindsay’s August Cover!
-
-
How, since many want to know, do you go about picking a Covergirl?
-
Selena: There is not an exact formula in terms of choosing the Teen Style Covergirl. I like to think of my Covergirls as unique, rare and distinctive gems. Usually when I pick a Covergirl and then consult Style (because, she has to approve basically everything featured in Teen Style), I try to think about the contribution of that girl to Stardoll and whether that exact girl has something to say. I know that both Style and I have been criticized about our choice in Covergirls, but I would have to say that I have managed to live with that. Wonder why? I have accepted the fact that being a Teen Style Covergirl is something that a lot of girls wish for and the fact that you can’t please them all. So, I always try to send out a message with a Covergirl that is only one of its kind, poised and being able to answer to the questions eloquently with a dose of fun.
-
What inspires you when creating each issue? What are the outside influeneces?
-
Selena: When thinking on what to feature in each issue, a lot of things come in mind and there is actually a lot of planning involved. In the beginning, there is just an idea. It may be a look that I find adorable, a feeling that I get when I think about the issue, a colour that I have seen somewhere, a piece of clothing that I would actually want to own…
-
-
You always have to think about the climate and the season that the Issue is going to be published in. I mean even though you might make a statement by featuring swimsuits in sub-zero January, at least to me it does not make sense and I use this magazine to feature outfits that my readers can take inspiration from not only for their Stardoll Mini-Me versions of themselves, but even for them as well. I spend a lot of time researching the current season’s designer collections online and try to translate some looks into the magazine. By doing that I can find out the latest trends, accessories, make-up looks… I try to think of everything, when I actually pick the final contents of the issue.
-
-
Sometimes I even sketch some of the ideas that I have for the outfits that I want to feature in the magazine. I like to think that inspirations find me, rather the other way round. As for the outside influences, I must admit that I turn to fashion magazines such as Teen Vogue and Elle Girl. Not to forget the advertisements featured in these magazines and the fashion blogs that I regularly visit. Of course, an advice from someone that has experience in making magazines (Style) is always welcomed.

The Icon Wears Prada

Stardoll's hautest new inhabitant has bought it all. Although she pulls out all the stops with a Coral-coloured ruffle dress, and a cute little purple dropped waist number... it gets even better!! She has PRADA!! It may be last season, but I don't care. It's better than them giving her some of the new Prada (ewww.... frump city!) and I'm sure they'll be releasing some soon enough. The tights, are already in the store!
-
Tell me what you think! Is Stardoll in too deep with the new addition of Prada, or did you piss yourself when I broke the news (if you didn't already know).
-
By the way, thanks Undamyumbrellla for the link to (and telling me) about Stardoll's wonderful new addition!!!
-
Until we meet again.....

I'm 'Igor' To See This Movie!

Stardoll, as always has decided to let some lame-ass movie advertise on the website. The new movie is Igor, which (surprisingly) is not straight to DVD. Now, so I don't have much to say about nothing let me get into the details! In the Stardoll cinema there is the "Igor" trailer, which makes the movie look pretty good. But, what I didn't realize until now was, you get a free dress from watching it! All you have to do is watch the trailer (www.stardoll.com/en/cinema) and go to your suite to behold the pauper chic dress.
-
Although it may seem quite shabby by next year all the designers will be doing it! :) This will definitely be a "haute" piece to have in your wardrobe!! :P

Don't Read This, If You're A Virgin to My Writing

I'm back on, for the sheer reason that I can't go around, and take this. What I am about to say has nothing to do with me being without power (I'm at my bff megan's house), and will scare those who's eyes are virginal to my writing, and even worse the new clothes in the shop. Stop reading, now if that applies or you will regret it.
.......
For 1 and 1 half years, I've been satisfied with the mediochrity of this website... until recently when it seems every one lost their morality and even worse, their sense of fashion. Well, this applies for most of stardoll and the seemingly bi-polar stardoll staff. I don't say this out of spite, because I have nothing against any one who works for stardoll. At least, I did until now. The perfectly lovable, perfectly respectable, perfectly inexpensive current collection (of the Chanel theme) evoke[d] a modern woman's chicality and screamed, "Viva la Revolution". But, with one click of a button the days (that seemed like weeks) of perfection where ruined. I am not, exaggerating. When you see the new clothes in the wonderful colors of vomit-green and saturated-brown. The saddest thing isn't the 'old as dirt' leggings, or the cheap maxi it's the fact that people are purchasing it.
-
As of 9/15 2008 the 2 stardollar lime-green bag is the most popular item on stardoll. Not to mention, it's cheap, old, and looks like a fake version of a American Eagle bag I saw on Canal Street I saw not too long ago (yes, I was in NYC but that is off topic) that let me mention was a fake of something that a person from 'Ki-en-tu-ucky (some pronounce it that awful) could afford. Another thing that angered me where the straight-from-the-sex-shop gauntlets (a.k.a. arm warmers) that where completely and utterly heinous. Although what I just told you about seems awful it surprisingly got WORSE with the addition of the puice colored lace up boots that not ever a hooker with a heart of gold would wear. She'd leave them on the sales rack for Hifof/teale. And since I'm on a rant, I would also like to say that stardoll has been running around acting like they've gotten better. The truth is, it's the old stardoll (that it seems like is quoted all too much as "the good life" which, by far isn't because of the exclusion then, and the lies) masquerading as a better future.
-
Well, the season finale of Weeds is coming on. It's Megan and my show, so I'd better go. I'll get back with you guys tomorrow.
-Anthony.

I'm Not Gonna Be Posting!

-
Hey, it's your beloved tranny here to tell you there's been roaming power outages all across the mid-west. What does that have to do with fame, fashion and friends? It has to do with me. Right now I'm a computer at the library posting this. In Louisville there are over 500,000 homes without power. I am one of those many people! Since, there's no power I can't post!!
-
Sorry, lovers! :)

Party of the Year

-
TylerisBomb, former author over at The Star Dose and popular "Male Elite," is back, bitches! One of Stardoll's most reknowned members is hosting what he promises to be the Stardoll "Party of the Year" tomorrow morning. The dress code is strictly formal, so I'm sure all of Stardoll's Style Stars will be out in full force doning their latest 'Couture' and 'Avant Garde' creations. Also, you can expect as special guest from Style herself.
-
P.S. The party starts at 1:30 P.M. EST.
-

Color Me...

-
"I will die in Chanel, I will be burried in Chanel, and I will have on Chanel when I reach heaven." My grandma, always has put it simple. Chanel, the cult classic brand has finally come to SD. Whether it is a leather, chain strapped chanel bag, iconic cuffs, or the simple jersey dress stardoll has done it.
-
"You must remember this A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh. The fundamental things apply As time goes by."
-
Casablanca
-
-
Whether it may be in celebration of the television program, Coco Chanel (airing on Oxygen, tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. eastern) or the dior (pardon my pun) need of some truly fabulous fashion on Stardoll.
-
Coco always said, "A girl must be two things, classy and fabulous." That, is deffinetly true. It will always be true, whether you're my grandmother, a model, Marilyn Monroe, or Queen Elizabeth. Coco Chanel's love for fashion, has carried on with her... well past her grave (god-bless her soul) and will forever.
-

-
I must congratulate Karl Lagerfield for doing such an excelent job at the label, always defining fashion like his predasesser, and innovating her classic peices. I also say this because, Karl Lagerfeild has alot to handle, because of his own brand, and Fendi....
-
One thing that is for sure is, Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel's label will always stand the test of time. She was different from Elsa Schiaperelli and Jean Cocteau. So,I leave you knowing this. Stardoll just got a bit classier, with the adition of Chanel clothing. Much classier.

Backlash? What Backlash?

-
-
In wake of LaPrimaDonna's article posted on Stardoll's Most Hated Website about our favorite Stardoll heir actually being Daily*Tabloid, I found writing and researching this article both appropriate and relevant. Throughout the past year, Stardoll has been turned upside down as some of its most infamous users were exposed as liars, scammers, crazy bitches, and 12-year-old boys (I might have even hired one). So, as I slowly put together the pieces I pondered the thought of how some of the 'victims' (including Fakeshake3, BeverlyHillsHei, Teale, and Springate) had been treated differently following their stories breaking, most of which on Stardoll's Most Hated Website.
-
Case One: Teale Goes Ape Sh*t, FakeShake Becomes 'The Snake'
-
-
Teale, where do I begin? Everything started out innocently enough; she was that somewhat annoying user who used to send hundreds of broadcasts telling us she was happy, or had added more colors to her huge, nasty Beyonce weave. Then things got juicy - relatively fast! In the good 'ol days of Stardoll, chaos erupted when Teale was cited as a well known user/abuser of the 'loophole' of Stardoll. So she ripped off hundreds of users and then pocketed thousands of virtual Stardollars, that was just the beginning.
-
Teale (with Runway.Fashion slowly falling out of relevancy) stepped into her role as the CRAZY BITCH in town after the loophole was splashed across every Stardoll Gossip Blog from here to Mexico. At first, TEAM TEALE was as strong as ever, FakeShake3 (See Below) had admitted lying about her role in the 'loophole conspiracy' and Teale was portrayed as a saint.
-
Then, out of the blue, the tides were turned and Teale was exposed for the axe-wound she really is. She sent her evil groupies on unsuspecting users and ordered her new-found fanclub around like the Wicked Bitch of the West. In her case, after she was exposed, there was a very prominent backlash. Deserved? We think so.
-
FakeShake Becomes "The Snake"
-
-
Not all cases ended the way Hilfof's (that name still gets me) did. In true gossip blog fashion, all press is good press. While it is unlikely that Stardoll users will ever forget Ellie's admition of guilt which assured users that Teale was not as manipulative as she had been deemed (innocent days!) and that she has flat-out lied about everything she had said. After she admitted her shady ways, Ellie became an overnight sensation. Members flocked to her userpage, her guestbook overflowed with admiring comments, and gifts by the gallon load were dropped into her suite. So...what the fudge? No backlash came, apart from that of angered users who demanded to know the loophole. Of course she may not be as well-respected as she once was by those who are over the age of 13-years-old, but she admiring fans still pour onto her page every minute.
-
Case Two: Springate Grows A Pair
-
-
My love, my fellow blog writer, my adopted little bro, Springate wasn't always known as "The Boy With A Fashion Sense," he was once know as the 18-year-old NYC whore who liked to get dirty and over the top. Blaire (his 'name') was an out of control, attention whoring, uber bitch... then things changed...drastically.
-
I remember the shock I felt as I read that Blaire was actually Anthony/Blaire who was really just Anthony, was a boy. I remember the hateful comments, the out of control headlines, and the 12-year-old boy who was caught in the middle. Anthony, unlike Ellie or even Teale, recieved such a disgustingly vile treatment after he was exposed for who he was. The vindictive and cruel messages that were littered throughout his guestbook, blog message boards, and even his friend requests.
-
So, my question is, how can someone punish another person who actually took responsibility for his actions with a genuine sense of regret, but will not do the same for someone who is obviously lacking in morality or integrity? The detail of the whole ordeal that really shocked me was that older users would band together to, basically, cyber-bully a 12-year-old. Let's be honest with ourselves, that shit is just messed up. There is no other way to explain how low some people would have to be, or how horribly bored someone had to be with their own pathetic exsistence, that they would target someone younger and more naive then them. Not saying that Springy couldn't hold his own, but it's the idea of it that truly gets me. Watch out, because karma is a bitch.
-
-
Our last, and most recent, case is Ashley Wilson who is better known to the Stardoll world as BeverlyHillsHei. Barely two more then two weeks have passed since more damning evidence (presented by LaPrimaDonna) has been published on Stardoll's Most Hated Website. Oddly enough... not much has changed. I personally wonder if it is the fact that the new school year has pulled many preteens and teens out of their Stardoll induced comas, that people already suspected her, or if people just don't care.
-
Ashley is an amazingly sweet (ask anyone, they'll tell you the same) person. I have a feeling that her constant kindness and carefree atitude help people to look past the drama and, somewhat, not believe the rumors. Is that fair, or right? Can someone justify the backlash that occured to Anthony, and explain how it didn't occur for Ashley?
-
At the end of the day, it seems so obvious that people from all around the world log in to Stardoll everyday to act in their roles that our virtual society has created for them. We want behave as we see acceptable, so punishing people for their mistakes is almost second nature. We're basically attempting to mimic an actual functioning society in which there are rules, villians, heros, wannabes, rumors, liars, and so much more; it is then, and only then, that we temporarily leave our realities and truly lose ourselves within the mock-society of Stardoll.
-
